The current time is challenging for many organisations, but especially local authorities and property managers who must continue to provide a seamless residential experience in their properties – with the added challenge of being remote. For many, this will be the first time that they cannot access the office to manage their residential access control.
To help you understand how to continue to secure and manage a resident’s access to their home through PAC Residential, we’ve created a step-by-step guide to manage your systems remotely.
If your system is hosted by PAC & GDX, go straight to step 7
- Make the Residential server available for remote connection – popular platforms such as TeamViewer , LogMeIn & VNC Connect all have free packages available.
- Secure a copy of the database off the main server as a backup.
- Make a note of the ‘Fingerprint’ code in your licence screen as this would allow customer services to issue a replacement licence, should the need arise.
- Be sure to take your Desktop Admin Kit with you along with a supply of tokens to give to residents, if required.
- Do a dummy run through of remote connection, reading and adding keycodes before final lockdown, if possible.
- Add or edit time profiles where necessary to ensure suitable access/security of the office.
