Comelit-PAC Reaches New Security Heights at Ireland’s Tallest Residential Building

Comelit-PAC has installed smart door entry technology at Ireland’s highest residential site located in Dublin, to allow residents the convenience of remote access with no compromise to style or security.

As an iconic mixed-use development, standing 22 storeys high and encompassing three distinct buildings, residents in all 190 luxury rental apartments can now benefit from video door entry alongside instant communication with fully shared network facilities. 

Comelit-PAC was specified to install seven digital entrance panels to accommodate the different blocks within the development, operating through its specialist SimpleBus 2-Wire solution.  The powerful combination presents residents with the smart capability to answer door requests remotely.

This not only ensures consistent performance but also provides residents with enhanced convenience and remote monitoring capability.

Description: PAC’s long-standing tradition of security integration is now extended to the Dahua Temperature Monitoring Terminal, which has functionality to check a person’s temperature and determine if a face mask is being worn when entering a building or area. The ability to secure the building and protect the occupants is a true value add for customers planning strategies in times when minimising the risk of infection and preventing the spread of the virus are critical. The recommended means of installation ensures that access rights for individuals can be dynamically managed. Taking an output from the Dahua Thermal Monitoring Terminal into the PAC access control system will withdraw access rights for anyone who does not meet the user configured thresholds.

This integration, with one of the UK’s leading T&A providers allows any of our customers – new or future – to use the access events collected by Access Central to be used in calculating time spent on site or specific areas by their employees.  Previously, customers might have installed dedicated readers to collect this type of information which increased cost and provided a poor UX for their staff, as they would have had to present either the same or a different credential to two different readers.  Now that Thinking Software have integrated with Access Central, the RotaOne software can be configured to use existing readers which are managing access to the building as clocking points, resulting in an improved UX for their staff and reducing the cost of collecting this important information.  The solution is Cloud based and includes many features which normally are not included in a standard T&A solution such as Staff Annual Leave Planner and Staffing Level’s which supports Martin’s Law.   Additionally, Access Central has for many years included a complex Muster reporting function and with this integration they could also use Thinking Software’s own Roll Call solution with App allowing people to be accounted for without the need for dedicated Muster Readers.
