New Residential Development Enhances Security with Comelit-PAC’s VIP System

Large-scale residential development has enhanced its security infrastructure by integrating Comelit-PAC’s advanced ViP system. This strategic move aligns with the developer’s commitment to high-spec standards while ensuring aesthetic appeal.

Faced with the challenge of implementing a robust security system that did not require physical monitors within apartments, the developer sought an app-based solution that avoided yearly license costs and seamlessly integrated access control to improve the aesthetics of entrance points.

Comelit-PAC installed 11 bespoke Video Digital Stainless Steel Panels, chosen for their durability and sleek design. This allowed for the integration of a third-party access control system directly within the door entry panels, significantly enhancing the aesthetic appeal of each entrance, and maintaining the welcoming community environment.

227 Master App Licenses were also provided through Comelit-PAC’s ViP gateway system. This app-based solution allowed residents to manage access via their smartphones, eliminating the need for physical monitors within the apartments. 

This approach ensured the development could maintain high-security standards without incurring additional annual expenses, providing a cost-effective solution for long-term use.

The installation process was seamless, with Comelit-PAC working with the on-site team to ensure minimal disruption. The bespoke stainless steel panels were custom-designed to integrate the third-party access control system, enhancing both security and aesthetics at all entrance points.

The implementation of the ViP system has resulted in enhanced security, aesthetic improvement, and significant cost savings. The app-based system allows for real-time monitoring and control, ensuring that only authorised personnel can access the premises. 

The integration of the access control system within the bespoke stainless steel panels provides a sleek and modern look at each entrance, maintaining the site’s high-quality appearance.

Description: PAC’s long-standing tradition of security integration is now extended to the Dahua Temperature Monitoring Terminal, which has functionality to check a person’s temperature and determine if a face mask is being worn when entering a building or area. The ability to secure the building and protect the occupants is a true value add for customers planning strategies in times when minimising the risk of infection and preventing the spread of the virus are critical. The recommended means of installation ensures that access rights for individuals can be dynamically managed. Taking an output from the Dahua Thermal Monitoring Terminal into the PAC access control system will withdraw access rights for anyone who does not meet the user configured thresholds.

This integration, with one of the UK’s leading T&A providers allows any of our customers – new or future – to use the access events collected by Access Central to be used in calculating time spent on site or specific areas by their employees.  Previously, customers might have installed dedicated readers to collect this type of information which increased cost and provided a poor UX for their staff, as they would have had to present either the same or a different credential to two different readers.  Now that Thinking Software have integrated with Access Central, the RotaOne software can be configured to use existing readers which are managing access to the building as clocking points, resulting in an improved UX for their staff and reducing the cost of collecting this important information.  The solution is Cloud based and includes many features which normally are not included in a standard T&A solution such as Staff Annual Leave Planner and Staffing Level’s which supports Martin’s Law.   Additionally, Access Central has for many years included a complex Muster reporting function and with this integration they could also use Thinking Software’s own Roll Call solution with App allowing people to be accounted for without the need for dedicated Muster Readers.
